Meet Rai Azlan, the intellectual blogger from Lahore!

The interview with the thought provoking writer, Rai Azlan, went very interesting. One can learn a lot under his supervision. I have personally learnt a lot about blogging under his supervision. In the interview he told us his story how he entered in the interesting

field of blogging and various tips that will help every blogger/content writer.

1. Can you tell us about your blog? How did you get in to blogging?
I started blogging back in 2006, I was very active on the online forums and contributed to various forums and then I stumbled upon blogging and set up a blog on BlogSpot that is how RaiAzlan.com (https://raiazlan.wordpress.com/ started) later moved it to WordPress. In 2009 I started mylandPakistan.com that did very well as we covered various social issues and tried to cover positive side of Pakistan on the blog spectrum. While I was in the UK for my studies I could not catch up with Pakistan updates so somehow MyLandPakistan got inactive. After returning to Pakistan and seeing the changing trends in blogging I with my friends started MediaSpringPK (springmediabubble.com) and now we are producing across social media platforms content for that.
2.       Would you like to share any of your favorite books? What’s the name of the book you’ve recently read?
I recently read “End of Past” by Nadeem FParacha. My favorite books are Rakh and Pyar ka pehla shehar by MustansarHussain Tarar. City of Sin and Splendour: Writings on Lahore by Bapsi Sidhwa is also my favorite book
3.       What content management systems you have used so far? What’s your favorite as a blogger?
I use various tools from WordPress to Hootsuite to TweekDeck I have also used Trello to keep track of my tasks. For content planning and calendars I use Google calendars as compared to any other tool
4.       How do you optimize your content for search?
WordPress is an amazing platform it lets you add various plugins to your website. So I use those plug ins for optimization. Moreover we use the conventional methods of optimization as well.
5.       What are some hacks for writing more appealing content for a blog?
There is only one hack… you must know your audience and readership and learn the art how to tease their reading sense
6.       What are your favorite topics that you usually write on?
I personally like to write about social issues and literary events. But since now I work on a life style and media blog so for that I like to write about modern technology trends influencing our life style and electronic media updates.
7.       How do you handle working with different clients?
If I am understanding the question right then the mantra is that Customer is always right but you must add value to their work with your skills
8.       What content marketing blogs you follow?
I hardly get time to follow blogs myself now. So at the moment, none!
9.       Any suggestions for the newbies of this field?
Blogging is a vast field it is much more than just putting up pictures on Instagram with a text provided by PR companies. Try to explore more about blogging and apply it to your work to stand out in the growing crowd of “Bloggers"
